French-born artist Lewis OfMan shares a new mini-documentary surrounding his new album Cristal Medium Blue. First teased on socials this past Tuesday, the mini-documentary brings viewers backstage on the night of his first big performance of Cristal Medium Blue at the iconic Théâtre des Bouffes du Nord in his hometown of Paris.
The footage – filmed by none other than “Hey Lou” guest vocalist Camille Jansen along with director Joseph Bird – gives a window into his entirely reimagined live show that has seen him evolve from a one-man synth-driven act to a full band. It is an evolution that mirrors the guitar-driven musical direction of the new album on which Lewis played all of the instruments. Following a successful run through Europe, the opening night of which is covered in the mini-doc, Lewis OfMan sets his sights on North America where the next leg of his tour launches May 3rd. Check out his latest release below:
The mini-documentary is the second visual offering following his February release of Cristal Medium Blue, the first being a music video for album track “Get Fly (I Wanna)” featuring Gabriela Richardson, which was directed by acclaimed Catalonian filmmaker Albert Moya, a close friend of Lewis with a hand in the world of fashion (Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Dries Van Noten). Filmed outside of Florence at the artist residency Numeroventi, the music video is a true family affair featuring a cast of close friends such as Le Diouck and the fashion designer behind Open YY, all the while capturing the impromptu essence of Gabriela and Lewis’s recording session.
