    Soccer Mommy

    “Cool”

    Clean

This is the stoner song that I’ve been waiting for.  Sophie Allison who is Soccer Mommy writes great songs with wonderful hooks and those lyrics that are, as Allison describes them, “chill but kinda sad” bedroom-pop jams.  “Cool” itself is a great song.  I especially love the way it ends in a stoned winddown.  This is great, summertime music.  Soccer Mommy is Sophie Allison – Guitar, vocals, bass, Julian Powell – Lead guitar,
Nick Brown – Drums, and Gabe Wax – Piano, synth, mellotron, bass, guitar, drum programming, percussion.  Allison is from NYC via Nashville.  This album, her debut, reminds me of what Veruca Salt would have sounded like if they had stayed together.  This is one of my favorite albums this year.  Guys, jump on this bandwagon.
