Tapeworms Return with Dazzling New Album ‘Grand Voyage’ – Out Now

Tokyo-based French trio Tapeworms return with Grand Voyage, a bold, genre-blurring album out now via Music Website and P-Vine. Crafted during lockdown after their first trip to Japan was cut short, the record captures the tension between feeling stuck and dreaming forward—with shimmering results.
Entirely self-written, recorded, and produced, Grand Voyage fuses shoegaze and dreampop with French house, Shibuya-kei, club pop, and warped video game aesthetics. It’s a colorful sonic patchwork that feels nostalgic and futuristic at once—powered by Casio keyboards, kid-friendly samplers, and FM synths.
Singles like “Pitch Pop,” “IRL,” and “Puzzle” (with a Kate NV remix) teased this new era—playful, hypertextural, and bursting with Y2K-inspired visuals. The album’s release marks the band’s first return to the stage since their Lille farewell, with two Tokyo events: a Tower Records mini live on April 17, and a full release show at Shimokitazawa Spread on April 24.
Grand Voyage is a transportive 42-minute ride through dreamlike terminals, distant memories, and imagined futures. It’s Tapeworms at their most adventurous—celebrating the beauty of the in-between.
Listen now and let the journey begin.
