South London singer-songwriter Lola Young teams up with US rapper Lil Yachty on the magnetic new track “Charlie,” a collaboration that brings out the best in both artists. The track captures the raw energy and boundary-pushing creativity that has come to define Lola’s style. Lil Yachty, a fan of Lola’s no-nonsense, captivating sound, discovered her through her striking filmed content, making this partnership a natural progression in both artists’ journeys. Lola also recently lent her powerful vocals to Tyler, The Creator’s “Like Him” on his latest album, CHROMAKOPIA.
Earlier this year, Lola released her acclaimed album This Wasn’t Meant For You Anyway, recorded in LA and produced by longtime friend and collaborator Solomonophonic (known for work with Remi Wolf, BROCKHAMPTON, and Dominic Fike). The album features standout singles like “Wish You Were Dead,” “Conceited,” and “Messy,” and crackles with Lola’s kinetic energy, as she delivers lyrics laced with rage, passion, humor, and narrative wit.
On the heels of her North American headline tour, Lola is set to bring her This Wasn’t Meant For You Anyway tour to the UK this December, including a highly anticipated, sold-out show at O2 Kentish Town Forum. A European tour follows in February, with tickets still available for select dates. This summer, Lola captivated audiences at major festivals like Lollapalooza Chicago, Osheaga, Yung Blud’s Blud Fest, and London’s All Points East.
Be sure to check out “Charlie” featuring Lil Yachty, stream This Wasn’t Meant For You Anyway, and catch Lola live as she continues to break boundaries and leave her mark on the music scene. Full tour dates below.
