NYC’s power-popgaze trio Heaven return with Dream Aloud, their first album in seven years, out April 4, 2025, via Little Cloud Records. Today, they unveil their haunting new single “The Fire You Know”, a fever dream of lush string arrangements and melancholy orchestral swells, trading their signature wall of guitars for a hypnotic, cinematic sound. Featuring Megan LaMarca on cello, recorded by Anthony LaMarca (The War on Drugs), the track is a stunning evolution for the band.
The official music video, filmed at the eerie yet enchanting Nowhere House in Upstate NY, captures the song’s dreamlike essence. Directed by Jeska Sand, the video immerses viewers in a snow-covered, isolated farmhouse—an escape into the unknown, searching for warmth amid the madness of belief.
Last month’s shimmering single “I Need You More Somehow” previewed an album full of emotional depth and reverb-soaked soundscapes, following the quintessentially dreamy “I’ll Let You In.” Dream Aloud was recorded in NYC, mixed by Jonathan Kreinik (The Rapture, Gang Gang Dance), mastered by Christopher Colbert (The Walkmen, Pedro the Lion), and features guest guitar from Steve Schiltz (Longwave, Wah Together).
Formed by Matt Sumrow and Mikey Jones, veterans of Swervedriver, The Lemonheads, Dean & Britta, and Ambulance LTD, and now joined by bassist Sonia Manalili, Heaven craft expansive, introspective soundscapes that blur the line between waking life and dreamstate. Dream Aloud promises to be their most immersive record yet.
