Djo Announces New Album ‘The Crux,’ Drops Infectious Single “Basic Being Basic”
Joe Keery, the multi-talented actor, singer, and songwriter—known to most as Steve Harrington from Stranger Things—is back with a brand new album under his musical moniker, Djo. Titled The Crux, the highly anticipated follow-up to 2022’s Decide is set to drop on April 4 via AWAL. Leading the charge is the infectious new single, “Basic Being Basic,” which you can check out below. Scroll down for Djo’s upcoming tour dates.
Keery once again teams up with longtime collaborator Adam Thein, co-producing The Crux at the legendary Electric Lady Studios in New York City. This marks Djo’s third full-length release, following the critically acclaimed Decide and his 2019 debut Twenty Twenty, both of which cemented his status as more than just an actor dabbling in music.
With his signature blend of psychedelic synth-pop, introspective lyrics, and groove-heavy production, Keery continues to carve out his unique sonic space, pushing the boundaries of indie and retro-futuristic soundscapes. If The Crux follows the trajectory of his previous work, fans can expect a mind-bending ride through Keery’s evolving artistry.
