Daydreamers Captures ‘Sad Euphoria’ in New Single “Don’t Delete My Number”

Rising British alternative pop band Daydreamers has released their latest single, “Don’t Delete My Number,” a heartfelt ballad that continues their streak of producing buoyant, shimmering records. Available now on all streaming platforms via Epic Records/Robots + Humans, the track showcases the band’s signature blend of earnest emotion and catchy melodies. Despite its sunny sound, “Don’t Delete My Number” feels like a melancholy turn in the romantic narrative that began with the band’s previous hits, “Call Me Up,” “Beach House,” and “All I Ever Dream About.” The infectious refrain, “Don’t delete my number / Because I still remember this summer,” serves as the wistful anthem for those fleeting summer flings, perfectly timed as autumn begins to loom.

The band, which defines its sound as “sad euphoria,” continues to hone their craft with this release. Daydreamers’ recent debut at the iconic Reading & Leeds festival, following a series of high-profile festival appearances over the summer, has further solidified their growing reputation. This fall, they’ll be hitting the road to support fellow UK band Sea Girls, starting in Sheffield on September 26 and wrapping up in Belfast on October 12. Previously, Daydreamers have opened for big-name acts like Kings of Leon and Pale Waves and even sold out their first headlining gig in London before dropping their debut single.

Since their spring 2024 debut, the quartet—Riley (vocals), Aurora (bass), Jay (drums), and Marco (guitar)—has quickly garnered attention from fans and critics alike. Their debut single, “Call Me Up,” went viral on TikTok and amassed millions of streams, earning praise from outlets like BBC Radio 1 and MTV UK. Subsequent releases, “Beach House” and “All I Ever Dream About,” have only cemented their place in the alternative pop scene, with Uproxx lauding their potential for enduring appeal. As Riley puts it, “Daydreamers is ‘Sad Euphoria.’ The lyrics will tear your heart out, but the music is euphoric. We want to create a space where people are shouting back their feelings to us, and we’re all connecting. Even though the emotions are intense and often overwhelming, we’re all optimistic in the moment because we’re together.”
