Today, Broken Head releases their new single “Bending Up” and reveals details of their eagerly anticipated LP, The Morning Ends, set to drop on May 31 via Sunday Drive Records. We have listened and are truly enamored by their infectious and beautiful new track included in this review.
In 2024, Broken Head has fully realized their artistic vision, creating ’90s-inspired alternative rock that shines in its detailed texture, production, and songwriting. Originating as a band heavily influenced by Catherine Wheel, they have matured into a distinct entity within the alternative rock scene. While still drawing inspiration from Catherine Wheel, Broken Head now also channels the essence of bands like Swervedriver, Ride, The Cure, and The Sundays, crafting exquisite melodies complemented by resonant guitar work and ethereal lyrics that evoke images of nature, love, and longing. Collaborating once again with their longtime producer Trevor Reilly, Broken Head has crafted “The Morning Ends,” a record that is rhythmically engaging, irresistibly catchy, and sonically beautiful.
