Bibi Club Reignite ‘Feu de garde’ With a Hypnotic Deluxe Edition and Cover of “Orgiastic”

Montreal duo Bibi Club are breathing new life into their acclaimed 2024 album with Feu de garde (les braises), a deluxe reissue arriving May 9 via Secret City Records. Marking its one-year anniversary, the expanded edition includes four new tracks, including a mesmerizing cover of Stereolab’s “Orgiastic” and a fresh take on “you can wear a jacket or a shirt” featuring Calvin Johnson.
Their rendition of “Orgiastic” is a deeply personal homage—Adèle Trottier-Rivard recalls how Stereolab’s original played as she gave birth to her child. Now, she and Nicolas Basque (Plants and Animals) weave that emotional weight into a dreamy, hypnotic reimagining that pulses with quiet strength. Pre-Save Here.
The reissue caps off an incredible year for Bibi Club, whose lush, genre-blurring sound has earned praise from Brooklyn Vegan, Billboard Canada, Exclaim!, and MOJO. Mixed by Ali Chant (PJ Harvey, Aldous Harding) and mastered by Matt Colton (Depeche Mode, James Blake), Feu de garde is a shimmering collection of French pop and indie rock gems, glowing with warmth and communal spirit.
Bibi Club will make their Osheaga Festival debut this August and hit the road for select Canadian dates this spring. Meanwhile, Feu de garde (les braises) is available for digital pre-save, and a limited edition 7-inch featuring “you can wear a jacket or a shirt feat. Calvin Johnson” and “Le feu II” will be up for grabs—stay tuned to their socials for details. Listen to “Orgiastic” below:
