100%WET Push Shoegaze Into the Future With “Leave It”

Danish duo 100%WET blur the lines between shoegaze, drum’n’bass, and breakbeat on their latest single, “Leave It”. Dubbed “hypergaze”, their sound fuses ethereal dream-pop vocals with grunge-laced riffs and pulsating club rhythms, creating something both nostalgic and forward-thinking.
Floating above the track’s hypnotic drone, Amalie Hannibal Petri’s vocals bring a soft yet urgent intensity, while phaser-drenched guitars and skittering beats collide in a swirl of motion. As the song reaches its climax, a vaporwave-inspired pitch shift warps everything, sonically mirroring the emotional act of release.
Lyrically, “Leave It” is an anthem of catharsis—shedding the past, embracing clarity. It follows previous singles “Over Me”, “Ether”, and “Lost Myself”, setting the stage for their self-titled debut album, dropping May 16 on Crunchy Frog Recordings.
Rooted in ‘90s underground club culture but shaped by modern production, 100%WET are redefining rock’s electronic future—turning distortion and drum breaks into something urgent, immersive, and deeply human.
