Britney Spears’ Memoir ‘The Woman in Me’ Set for Big Screen Adaptation
Britney Spears‘ life story is heading to the big screen. The pop icon has revealed that her recent memoir, The Woman in Me, is set to be adapted into a movie by Universal Pictures. The project will be directed by Jon M. Chu, known for Wicked, with Marc Platt producing. Spears made the announcement on social media platform X, expressing her excitement and hinting at the involvement of Marc Platt, whom she praised for producing some of her favorite films.
In November 2021, Spears’ conservatorship ended following a highly publicized legal battle. Since gaining her freedom, she released the best-selling memoir The Woman in Me, which details her life under the conservatorship. The book also came out as an audiobook, narrated by actress Michelle Williams. Additionally, Spears released two new songs: “Hold Me Closer,” a reimagining of Elton John’s classic “Tiny Dancer,” and “Mind Your Business,” a collaboration with Will.i.am. Her most recent album, Glory, was released in 2016.
