Yuzima Philip – “The Evil Wings Of Love” – The Book of Slayed
Yuzima is back with a beautiful song with a fantastic video filmed by Jim Fairfax. This song is a testament to surviving the last 5 years of anxiety and heartbreak and the need to remember but not to dwell; instead, to move on an not look back. The song is beautiful. You have to listen to it, and listen closely. Yuzima’s voice is so soulful, almost mellow, but he delivers those beautiful words that, at first, seem pessimistic but are really an optimistic look into the future. The video, by Yuzima’s husband, Jim Fairfax is unbelievable. As his bio says:
(T)he video captures enchanting images of the park then turns them into a backdrop for a big melodic song about surviving the last five tumultuous years and surviving anxiety. Images of thorny bushes, flowering trees, and turtles fill each scene of the video.
The video does justice to the song, never overwhelming Yuzima, which IMHO would be impossible. Yuzima is truly is larger than life, full of love, not afraid of facing the future while still breaking from the past. Please follow with the lyrics below. Yuzima is not called NYC’s Prince of Noise for nothing, though it is beautiful noise he creates.
We all want to breathe
And you know that
And you know that
There’s a sound that rings out
A ringing dispatch, dispatch
There were tears in our eyes
The evil wings of love, crawling
Back again and you know that
And you know that
Cry from what you see, not from
What you feel
And you know that
And you know that
We were both on the ledge
And you know that
And you knoooow that 52 birds on the ledge Please don’t look back, don’t look Back, There were tears in our eyes
The evil wings of love crawling back again And you know that, and you know that
Cry from what you see not from what you Feel and you know that
Be careful what you say
Be wary who you see
Chorus
Eeevil wings of loooooove
