Sun Worship: Lonely Benson – “Strawberry Afternoon”

Lonely Benson

“Strawberry Afternoon”

Lonely Benson

What a great performer.  Lonely Benson (aka Daniel Young) has combined the sunny sound of Os Mutantes with the easy-going lounge/swing of Louis Jourdan into of psychedelic expression of the love of summer.  As Dan says:

Hey folks. If you’re in the Northern hemisphere you’re likely starting to see more of the sun. I like sunshine and I write it into my songs a lot.

And Lonely Benson is a summer audio party.  If you’re tired of the cold and snow, put Lonely Benson on the turntable and blast it out.  You’ll find your flowers exploding in a psychedelic way.  This ain’t no normal lounge: this is lounge for those longing for real music.  Get on the yacht, grab a cooler, dance, expand your mind, worship the sun.
