Tender Glue

“Hope Street”

Steady Light

Introducing one of the most interesting songs I have heard for a long time.  The new project was written and produced, start to finish by Tender Glue. He describes “Hope Street,” as a song about “a point in life when part of you just gives up, you see no hope and you cannot go further even though part of you knows that it’s going to pass.”  Hailing from Brooklyn, New York, Tender Glue is a one man project consisting of Poland-native, Tom Gluewicki.  With an original voice (the sadness of the song is almost tactile), and a tremendous talent for melody, Tender Glue is so unbelievably wonderful.  The production is impeccable.  One thing I really love is the surprises in tempo and the acoustics;  soft/loud, slow/fast.  And then when the electric guitar starts up in the background. Wonderful.  The lyrics are so beautiful, so sad, kind of a new “Mercy Street”.  Someone read Anne Sexton.

It was raining
It was rain
It was raining
I was painting your face

It was daily
It was day
It was daily
Daily made

It amazed me
I’m amazed
It amazed me
How quick you forget
How quick you forget

Garbage in
Garbage out
Take a spin
Take a ride
Cause there is no hope at the hope street
There is no hope at the hope street

Cause there is no hope at the hope street
There is no hope at the hope street

It was raining
It was rain
It was raining
I chased my dreams

I won’t let them
I won’t let
I wont let them race me
You race your race
You race your race

Garbage in
Garbage out
Take a spin
Take a ride
Cause there is no hope at the hope street
There is no hope at the hope street

Cause there is no hope at the hope street
There is no hope at the hope street

Garbage in
Garbage out
Take a spin
Take a ride

There is no hope at the hope street
There is no hope street
