Madonna, Queen Latifah & Macklemore To Marry 34 Couples On Stage
According to Celebbuzz “It looks like Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ “Same Love” has started something big and it’ll come to its natural conclusion live during tonight’s telecast of the 56th Annual Grammy Awards.
Joined by the song’s featured vocalist Mary Lambert, Madonna, and Queen Latifah on hand to officiate the nuptials, the hip-hop duo will bare witness to 34 marriages during a performance of 2013’s song that wouldn’t quit.
We have the details thanks to the kind people at The New York Times, who say that the plan has been in the works since the fall and that the mega-ceremony will feature couples who are gay, straight, old, young, and of many races and colors. The couples involved have even been able to anticipate their big day like anyone else would, going as far as having their wedding rehearsals at the Staples Center in Los Angeles yesterday.
In the article, Lewis is quoted as saying that the weddings “will be in our minds the ultimate statement of equality, that all the couples are entitled to the same exact thing.”
