French Beauty: Steevo Nuissier – “The Death Of A Party”
Steevo Nuissier
“The Death Of A Party”
Angels And Demons
Steevo Nuissier is one of the greatest French artists out there (and if you know French music, that is saying a lot). He is definitely one of mine. His voice is so clear and beautiful, and his material is always so diverse. On “The Death Of A Party”, he has managed to combine Baudelaire with Serge Gainsbourg, which is almost an impossible trick, but Steevo pulls it off with ease. As Steevo says in his bio:
I’m Steevo, I’m French, I live in Oxford. This is my world, this is my music, my take on Life. This is how I feel, what I observed. Music is my vision of the world we live in. I’m sending some positive energy to make people feel good.
I’minfluenced by bands/ artists like The Cure, Depeche Mode, Joy Division, Portishead, Ladytron, Mylene Farmer, Etienne Daho, Serge Gainsbourg, Françoise Hardy,
Placebo, Radiohead/ Thom Yorke.
News for 2017 I’m working on my album “Angels and Demons” , the live shows are getting together with Kwesi Edman playing the cello and Marc Burgess playing the guitar with me on stage.
The combination of musical instruments with Steevo’s unique voice give the song a scary, futuristic, Velvet Underground sound. I love him. Listen. You will too.
