Shanghai Restoration Project

“Spooky Party”

R.U.R.

This is a strange, electronic band that is wonderful and whimsical, but honestly, you have to listen to them to appreciate them. The Shanghai Restoration Project (SRP) is the Brooklyn based electronic duo of Dave Liang and Sun Yunfan.  The title of the new album comes from the 1920’s film Rossum’s Universal Robots, were the word robot comes from.  That will give you an insight to the music.  A mixture of Kraftwerk and Eno, SRP are a delight to listen to and try and figure out exactly what they are doing.  This music requires you to think.  Thinking is good.
