Coachella 2024 Line-Up
The 2024 Coachella music festival, set for two weekends in April at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, will feature a stellar lineup including Lana Del Rey, Tyler, the Creator, and Doja Cat as headliners. Also making a comeback is the ska band No Doubt, led by Gwen Stefani, marking their first performance together since 2015. The lineup is further bolstered by the presence of Blur and rising rap sensation Ice Spice.
Each of the headliners has a history with Coachella. Lana Del Rey, who last performed at the festival in 2014 and was scheduled for the 2020 event that was canceled due to Covid, returns to the stage. Doja Cat, fresh from her 2022 performance, and Tyler, the Creator, a festival regular since his 2011 debut with Odd Future and subsequent solo appearances in 2015 and 2018, will also grace the festival. Tyler is noted for his guest performances with other rappers at Coachella in past years.
Entertainment news outlet Variety reported that both Dua Lipa and Shakira were considered as potential headliners for the event. Sources revealed to Variety that Dua Lipa turned down the opportunity due to scheduling conflicts, whereas organizers decided not to go with Shakira.
This year’s lineup also includes the band Deftones, the Mexican artist Peso Pluma, and Bleachers, led by Jack Antonoff.
In recent years, Coachella has experienced its share of headliner-related issues. Both Kanye West and Frank Ocean have withdrawn from their headlining slots at the last minute. Notably, Ocean canceled his performance for the festival’s second weekend after delivering a first weekend show that received mixed reviews, featuring pre-recorded vocals and unusual stage antics.
As North America’s biggest music festival, Coachella has already sold out all of its 125,000 daily tickets. Fans still looking to attend can try to purchase three-day passes, which go on sale this Friday at 11 a.m. Pacific Time during the festival’s pre-sale event.
