Blue Grass Wonder: Korby Lenker – “Nothing Really Happens”

Korby Lenker

“Nothing Really Happens”

Thousand Springs

What a beautiful song from a beautiful album.  Korby Lenker has those vocals that bring you back to the country, wherever your country is.  And his acoustic guitar playing always knocks me out.  He has such a fluid finger-picking technique that reminds me of the old-timer bluegrass giants like Bill Monroe.  On “Natural Really Happens”, Lenker is joined by Tim Lauer on pump organ and accordion, Annie Staninec on fiddle, John Reischman on mandolin, Molly Tuttle on clawhammer banjo (one of my favorite instruments), Anton Nesbitt on electric bass, and Alex Wong on drums.  This group sound like they are having fun.  This is a great song.  My goodness, the whole album is top-notched.  Korby Lenker is someone to take seriously.
