Baroque Monody

“Pickford”

Aphrodite Laughs

This is an amazing album.  Baroque Monody has written and performed a great group of tunes about women, a lot not often sung about.  Most of the songs are written by Jennifer Elizabeth Rose, who does Vocals, Guitar, Keyboards while Rick Polo – Guitar contributes to the huge sound of this soulful, baroque music.  This is beautiful goth post-punk music from my hometown, Youngstown, Ohio.  I always knew Y-Town was and is certainly a huge boiling pot for heady music of all kinds.  But wow, even by Y-Town measures, Baroque Monody is greater than most bands out there.  Siouxsie would die to sound this good and intimate.
