Vulnerability: Tyson Motsenbocker – “Coeur D’Alene”

Tyson Motsenbocker

“Coeur D’Alene”

I love confessional Americana, and very few do it as well as Tyson Motsenbocker.  His lyrics are so wonderfully introspective, his guitar playing so crisp, his tenor voice so honest and vulnerable.  Motsenbocker reminds me of The Mountain Goats, but more straightforward.  Motsenbocker grew up in the apple orchards and pine forests at the foothills of the Cascade Mountains. After his mother (and hero) died in 2013, Motsenbocker hiked the Pacific coastline from Southern California to San Francisco and got in touch with God and peace.  This is so reflected in his music.  This is beautiful music.  Thank you, Tyson.
