So dark, so light, the best of both. Hunter is amazing. How you can sound so sweet and loving, yet write so dark is amazing. I love this man so much. Everything he does is great. He allows us into his psyche, shows us the wounds, yet, no matter how dark, there is the sparkle of hope. I get chills when the harmonica comes in; it’s so incongruent, yet so perfect. Free, that’s what the song’s about. I love the line: “Come back to me, eventually.” Perfect song for a dark, cold night, when you beg, come back, eventually. I might be totally wrong, and if I am, Zeke, correct me. To me “Earth and Time” is for the lover who needs time to sort things out. One of the saddest parts of someone’s life; the wait.
