The Delta Troubadours

“Stone Thrasher”

Get Up And Go

This is the hard rock band we’ve been waiting for.  No tricks, no gimmicks, no staring at one’s shoes (not that there’s anything wrong with that, LOL), but just rock and roll.  Formed in the spring of 2014 members Gytis Garsys (Vocals/Guitar), Ian Heausler (Guitar), and Jon Franklin (Bass/Vocals) have seamlessly sewed together elements of the blues, garage rock, grunge, and whatever the hell was popular in the 1970s.  This so works.  They started in Gainesville, FL, and moved to Nashville where they’ve really kicked ass.  I like this band a hell of a lot.  Riffs galore, lyrics that mean something, and Gytis Garsys’ vocals are just perfect, and when Jon Franklin joins in, it’s heaven.  These two lines from the bio sum up the band perfectly:

(T)he band now resides in East Nashville in a house comfortable enough for two people or seven unsupervised dogs.

With a sound that takes its cues from days long ago, when guitar gods were still in demand and Y2K was a legitimate threat to our existence, The Delta Troubadours seamlessly sew together elements of the blues, garage rock, grunge, and whatever the hell was popular in the 1970s.

Maybe it’s my growing up in the 70’s that helps me identify with these guys, but I believe it’s because they are that damned good.  Check them out.

Just a note.  I realize this is exactly the type of music I was listening to.  Check out the soundtrack to “Dazed and Confused”.  This is what Foghat should have sounded like. They would have made it huge like The Delta Troubadours will.
