Spirit of the Beehive Unveil Haunting New Tracks from Upcoming Album ‘You’ll Have to Lose Something’
Spirit of the Beehive has just unveiled two new tracks from their upcoming album, ‘You’ll Have to Lose Something’: “Something’s Ending” and “I’ve Been Evil.” Accompanied by a joint music video, these songs plunge listeners into a world of eerie, black-and-white visuals that gradually morph into a vivid narrative of murder, escape, and rustic life. Directed by Kelsea Dakota Larson, the video masterfully captures this chilling transformation.
Larson commented in a press release, “My collaborator and spouse, Jim, and I have been waiting for the right project to film here in rural Appalachia since we moved a few years ago. When we heard these new tracks, we knew this was the right one. We took the titles literally and wanted to highlight the darkness that can be right under your nose in a beautiful little mountain town, or anywhere really, while outsiders carry on.”
“You’ll Have to Lose Something,” set for release on August 23 via Saddle Creek, marks Spirit of the Beehive’s fifth studio album, following their 2021 record, “Entertainment, Death.” The 12-track LP also features the recent single “Let the Virgin Drive” and includes a collaboration with the Hattiesburg synth-punk band MSPaint. With its haunting melodies and gripping storytelling, the album promises to be a compelling addition to their discography.
