Beauty: LEA – “Such A Lovely Thing”
LEA
“Such A Lovely Thing”
Fever Dream
LEA has an amazing, deep voice. Her dark synth pop is matched perfectly in this amazingly crafted video. Her music and portrayal of feminism emphasizes the fluidity of being. As Patti Smith says: “Every woman is a vessel, is evasive, is aquatic”. LEA’s music and presentation pushes this fact. Her music is great. Usually in dark synth pop, the synth background is almost overwhelming. LEA uses minimal synth mainly to support and move her voice along and to let her message come through. Below is more information about her video (oh, her mother is Kelly Capelli).

“I wrote this song and made this video about my relationship with my alter ego. The sensuality, the ignorance of it, the total embrace. The dance between genders, which was very prominent for me growing up. The battle between fragility and strength, femininity and fortitude. I learned how to represent myself in whichever way I wanted (which is still sometimes a struggle) and I met others who were doing the same. Their complete embrace of fluidity inspired me. So I created this video as an ode to myself, to them, to anyone I’ve met who represents and celebrates more than the mundane.”
