Following the announcement of their upcoming Corpus Grows North American tour, New York’s ecclesiastical hardcore trio, Show Me The Body, has released a new single, “It Burns.” This track marks their first official new material since their acclaimed 2022 album, Trouble The Water. The release is accompanied by a music video directed by SMTB’s Julian Pratt and Asha Maura. “It Burns,” along with the upcoming tour, signals a new phase for the band and the Corpus crew, as they also announce the forthcoming Corpus 2 mixtape, a follow-up to their 2017 Corpus I mixtape. The Corpus mixtape series features a diverse range of acts that align with Corpus’s values and vision. Corpus 2 is set to drop this summer, with the Corpus Grows Tour kicking off in September.
The tour and mixtape announcement follow their recent stint as the opening act for Knocked Loose on a completely sold-out 31-city tour this past spring, building on the success of Show Me The Body’s World War Tour last year. After a series of international festivals and shows this summer, their fall tour will commence at the end of September and continue through early November. The tour will include stops in various major cities and festival performances at Louder Than Life, Furnace Fest, Aftershock, and VIVA PHX, concluding with their largest hometown show to date at the Knockdown Center in Queens. Show Me The Body will be supported by High Vis and BIB, with additional support from Special Interest, ZelooperZ, Bearcat, and HiTech on select dates. Artist and local presale begins tomorrow, June 26th at 10am local time, with general on-sale starting this Friday, June 28th at 10am local time. Tickets are available HERE.
The tour is in partnership with CORPUS NYC, a mutual aid and creative collective founded by Show Me The Body in 2015. Based in Queens, CORPUS NYC started by organizing non-traditional, intentional DIY spaces for NYC youth and has grown globally through its live shows, mixed-genre tours, and the CORPUS NYC platform. Watch “It Burns” below:
Formed in 2009, Show Me The Body includes Julian Cashwan Pratt (founder; banjo and vocals), Harlan Steed (founder; bass), and current drummer Jackie McDermott. Over the past 15 years, they have released several EPs and three full-length albums: Body War (2016), Dog Whistle (2019), and Trouble The Water (2022). The 12-track album, recorded entirely at CORPUS Studios in Long Island City with Arthur Rizk (Power Trip, Turnstile, Municipal Waste), is a tribute to the city and its sound, capturing the essence of New York’s diverse subcultures. Through their dedication to the New York Sound and their local and global communities, Show Me The Body has reshaped the boundaries of the hardcore genre.
