Beyoncé is set to release a new album titled Act II on March 29, along with two fresh tracks: “Texas Hold ’Em” and “16 Carriages,” which you can listen to below. A teaser clip from Beyoncé is also available for viewing below.
The announcement came during the Super Bowl LVIII, where Beyoncé shared a video on her Instagram, hinting at a country genre direction for the second installment of her Renaissance trilogy. The teaser includes a nod to Chuck Berry’s “Maybelline” and showcases a scene with men gazing at a large billboard of Beyoncé in minimal attire with the caption “Texas! Hold ’Em,” reminiscent of a scene from Wim Wenders’ 1984 movie Paris, Texas.
“Texas Hold ’Em” is a collaboration featuring Canadian artist Lowell, with Rhiannon Giddens, Raphael Saadiq, Hit-Boy, Nathan Ferraro, Killah B, and others contributing to production and instrumentals. “16 Carriages” includes contributions from Dave Hamelin, Gavin Williams, Justus West, Saadiq, and more.
