Soccer Mommy has released a new single and video. As usual, what seems at first a simple alt indie sounding song, goes south (in a good way) very quickly. The music stops and starts, much like old time video games would glitch every now and then and had to be rebooted. Soccer Mommy has never released a simple song; the instrumentation is always odd. The song breaks in utterly insane ways, which just adds to the drama of the lyrics. As the narrator is driven crazier by her love, the music gets more jarring, and the video, in old rom com style, reflects that part of the lyrics. As usual, Soccer Mommy breaks the boundaries of the singer/songwriter mode and moves the genre into a more psychedelic region. See below for the lyrics:
