    Our Raw Heart

Talk about heavy beauty.  YOB’s new album, “Our Raw Heart”, is filled with beauty:  beautiful vocals, great guitar riffs, thundering bass that carries the song, and percussion riffs that fill the spaces and create a unified whole.  YOB has always been one of the bands to play complex, blues-based heavy metal (think Robin Trower) without sacrificing the heavy roots of the genre.  This is thinking man’s metal.  As their press states:

Across seven riveting compositions of enormous volume and pensive, transcendental beauty, YOB bleed out their own organic universe of ultimate doom.

This is beautiful music.  Comprised of Mike Scheidt – Guitar, Vocals; Aaron Rieseberg – Bass; andTravis Foster – Drums, this is what heavy metal could and should be.
