Chelsea Carlson

“Cherry Blossom”

The Broken Road

From the very first, crystal-clear, sound of the guitar, to the absolute beauty of Chelsea Carlson’s voice, you know you’re listening to something different, very different indeed.  The young singer-songwriter, with a “wise energy to her soul” (WDHA 105.5 FM), cites a variety of rock influences, ranging from classic greats, Robert Plant, Janis Joplin and Roger Waters, to modern-day rockers, Foo Fighters and Grace Potter and the Nocturnals. After returning to New Jersey from Berklee College of Music in 2011, Carlson quickly began playing various festivals and local venues.  Is there something at Berklee College of Music that brings out the best in artists?  Of well, I just know Carlson has taken singer/songwriter to a new level.  Her songs have that innocence of early Mitchell with that blueish sound of Plant and Waters.  Carlson can easily lay her hat with greatest.  Impressive sound all around.
